The weather station provides accurate weather data such as wind direction and speed to assist the turbine’s controller in managing the yaw mechanism, pitch control, etc.  The weather station also provides data to the turbines computer used in the analysis of turbine performance.

The weather station provides data to the control system.  The data provided includes wind direction and wind speed.  The data is then averaged over a ten minute period for performance calculations.  The data also allows the control system to intelligently operate the turbine.
